No scripture in history was more often copied, translated into more languages, distributed farther over the world than the Bible. This collection of 66 books, written by up to 40 people over centuries and centuries is respected and condemned, loved and hated, believed in and rejected, confirmed and refuted, to a level and abundance that is elsewhere only achieved by God himself.
People always tried to preserve and pass on the content of the books to future generations. They translated the books to make them available to almost everybody on earth. The strong motivation behind this giant effort can only be explained by the extraordinary importance of the content of the Holy Bible to mankind.
The best minds and specialists, the most talented and experienced translators, philosophers and scientists gave their talents and time to create countless copies and translations of the sacred scriptures that form the content Holy Bible.
But people are not perfect and therefore over the centuries the Bible was not only used for good purposes, but for evil as well. Pretending to translate the scriptures, people created versions of the Bible that support their own ideas of how the scriptures had be understood. Sometimes just careless, more often with doubtable motives, everybody seems to be busy creating something that is called Bible but often is far away from what one could call the Word of God.
Everybody that presents a new version of the Holy Bible claims to be as close to the Word of God, as one can possibly get. But looking at the diversity, the wide range of differences and discrepancies between all the translations and versions, many issuers, translators and authors must be dead wrong.
But how can we trust any Bible at all? We can and should trust the Word of God. The history of translations and versions is dominated by influences and influencers with their own agenda. But have they always been successful in their attempt to change the Bible to something else? Not so! One special aspect of any Bible on the world is its inheritance from only one final truth it is not able to cover or hide completely. Even the worst and most corrupt Bible versions will contain at least a small part of the truth of their origin.
Today we have all the hundreds and thousands of Bible versions at hand - thanks to the internet. Interest assumed, everybody can look for the truth by studying several Bible versions and translations. So do we really need another translation? Another version of the Bible?
